Going Chilming
I had a novel experience on Saturday evening - attending my first ever 'Chilming' event.
Invented by Epping resident, Josie Chorley @ChilmingChums, this is a movie show with a difference. You watch a film, with a theme, In the open air (weather permitting), with a musical accompaniment and thematic costumes.
Saturday's performance was a 1940's Film 'On the Town' with Frank Sinatra and Gene Kelly. Before the movie started, there was Glenn Miller music played and Josie and her staff were decked in 1940's clothes.
Best of all, the film was shown at the North Weald Air Squadron. Had the sun been shining, we would have watched the film outside on the airfield, but the Squadron still made a great atmosphere.
Chilming isn't just about turning up to a film and going home again - it is a real laugh.
I definitely will go 'Chilming' again.
