I have received confirmation from the Department for Communities and Local Government that Harlow Council is to receive a £6.392m boost for the town's housing.
I have called on the Government to fast-track funding, writing several times to the Minister over the issue.
The funding is part of the Government's Decent Homes initiative, to bring local authority housing up to the Decent Homes standard.
This funding announcement is something I have been fighting for. It is great news not only for Harlow Council but also for the council's housing tenants.
I am sure the money will be wisely used to improve the living environment in many of the council's properties across the town.
