I will be out and about next week working with charities and volunteering with local organisations as part of Social Action Week 2012.
I have organised the week for the second successive year and will be supporting a number of local community organisations in an effort to promote the hard work of volunteers across Harlow.
On Monday I will team up with Zoe Oakes from Rainbow Services and will be travelling to a number of schools to continue my ‘Reading with Rob’ Literacy campaign.
I have already visited seven schools in Harlow and the villages as part of this initiative.
Once again I will have the opportunity to read The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe, to children of all ages upon the Rainbow Services Bus.
Throughout the rest of the week I will be working at organisations such as Harlow Foodbank, Harlowsave Credit Union, Harlow Lions Club, St Clare Hospice and Harlow Talking Newspapers.
As MP, all through the year I visit many hundreds of community organisations and charities.
Through my regular Social Action Week, I am able to not just visit these charities but actually work with them and get a real feel for how much work they do in our community. It helps me experience the challenges they face every day.
Robery if you get the chance you should pop in to Accuro www.accuro.org.uk a great charity with their head office in Harlow that supports people with disabilities.
