Entitled Harlow Happenings, it was a story of strong foundations that make up Harlow. Through film, photography and art, three different Artists focused on three strands: the planning of Harlow New Town, our community, and scientific achievement.
One section focused on community minded individuals and organisations (including my friend Colleen Morrison (see pic), the other on maps and the story of the vision that lay behind the new town, with the third examining the birth of fibre-optic communications, and how fibre optics were invented in Harlow.
I was asked to give the speech: my main point was that the exhibition truly represented Harlow's values of aspiration, opportunity, achievement and community.
