Timely donation to St Clare Hospice

I am supporting the Charity Retail Association's Choose Charity Shops campaign and have donated an exclusive House of Commons watch to St Clare Hospice.

The hospice is now considering how best to raise the most money from the generous donation for the Hastingwood-based charity.

During the Choose Charity Shops campaign St Clare Hospice is raising awareness of the need for goods to be donated to the charity.

Its seven charity shops raise a significant amount of money to help fund the hospice’s patient care.

I was delighted to visit the St Clare Hospice shop in Harlow and present the charity with the special House of Commons watch.

I hope the donation will raise a significant sum to help the hospice continue to provide its much-valued services both at the hospice in Hastingwood and also in the community.

Louise Hamilton, the hospice’s retail sales manager, said: “We are very grateful that Robert Halfon has chosen to support St Clare Hospice in this nationwide charity shop stock appeal.

"As a local charity providing hospice care to people in Harlow and surrounding areas, we rely on the generosity of the community to give us goods to sell.
“We are always grateful for all types of donated goods but at the moment we especially need good quality furniture to sell in our shops.

"We offer a free collection service for furniture donations six days a week. At the end of this month this will be extended to offer ‘Early Bird’ collections from 7.15am in the Harlow area every Friday.”
