Harlow open for Business

Great news yesterday. Harlow is the town with the highest business growth, not just in the East of England, not just in England - but the whole of the United Kingdom. Experian shows that business start-ups have increased by 23.5%. From 2010 the number of businesses has gone from 3,782 to 4,260 in two years.

The reasons that Harlow is open for business are clear: a Tory Council that has frozen council tax for three years and supports enterprise, a Conservative led Government that has cut business taxes and chosen Harlow as an Enterprise Zone and the change in housing law to allow social housing tenants to run small businesses from their homes.

Harlow has always been a place of aspiration and enterprise. Today's news confirms just how entrepreneurial our Town actually is.
