Yesterday I spoke to BBC Essex, about the latest news on Partridge Care Home, in Harlow.
As I said, the latest report from the Care Quality Commission shows some improvements thanks to hard-working local staff, which need to be acknowledged. But as local MP, this case has been going on for over a year.
There is a residents meeting next week at the home, which I will be attending. I hope sincerely that all the questions will be answered, to address the worries of residents and families.
You can hear the recording above.

DeleteI have in the past worked at partridge care home as a carer, i have many years of experience in the elderly sector, i have observed staff working to the best of their abiilties, and knowledge, and lack of knowledge is due to lack of leadership and training on rushcliffe part, staff with no experience and no training to make them compented in work ethics, is the key, also change of management leaving the home not very stable. i have also find that the support from management is lacking, theses are issues that are at the root of smooth running of partridge, and can only be corrected with either change of ownership, or rushcliffe taking a postive steps to up their game by employing more management i.e manager and duputy manager, so support more visable on the units.
ReplyDeleteI have worked at partridge care home as a agency care staff. As a agency staff i have been to many different organisations, due to my experience in the care sector, and in previous roles i have managed units and at times large homes i have great insight into why homes are lacking, my thoughts of why partridge is not a stable home is due to poor managment, lack of training for staff, not enough support from managment, also i feel that their is no incetive to stay long time there as change of management is great deal of concern, i have witness some very good staff leave for theses reason above, and could so easily be corrected, i was shocked to many new staff commence their duties without training, which is demmed unsafe, and to my knowledge is part of code of practies and i find this unacceptable, putting staff and sevice users at risk, some of the exsiting staff are not given on going training, than gives them knowledge and skills they need to promote their awareness of there job role if they are it is done when they are on shift and then unit are left with unsafe numbers and staff are left to cope. this is just one of many issues that are the reason partridge is not a functioning home, i think ruchcliffe care need to acknowledge that home need change of recruiment of management and more visable support on the floors for staff, and more training to available, and also person centred care to be reconized
