I can't say, I agree with everything Tony Blair has ever said or done, but it is pretty astonishing that mention of his name by Ed Milliband today, lead to boos from the Labour delegates. Mr Blair was the Leader who brought his part three election victories, and virtually decimated the Conservative opposition during our dark days of opposition. As John McTernan, former Number Ten adviser said on Newsnight : the booing of Blair, showed that the Labour Party is suffering a crisis of identity.
The hostility to Mr Blair, shows just how far the Labour Party has moved to the left - and Mr Milliband's speech confirmed this. He spoke for the 'producer' rather than the 'consumer' or 'individual'. He attacked businesses and bankers, as if thirteen years of Labour Government had nothing to do with it. His attack on predator businesses, far from being new, was no different to every leftist attack on corporations through the ages. Conservatives are lucky that Mr E. Milliband is leader of the Labour Party.
