As someone who uses BT Broadband at home and is often frustrated by how slow it is - despite advertising that indicated supersonic speeds - recent news that Harlow will be part of BT's fibre-based broadband roll-out could not come soon enough.
HARLOW is one of 14 more Essex locations earmarked for BT's fibre-based broadband roll-out with the area set to be upgraded by August next year.
Fibre-based broadband will see 111,000 more homes and businesses in Essex linked up to BT's £2.5 billion plans for super-fast broadband.
In a world where we rely more on more on the internet, and we all want faster broadband connections, this is welcome news. It will benefit everyone, from people who have internet at home to the many businesses who are based in Harlow.
Our Town is a growing location for major businesses and we need to have the best communications if Harlow is to continue to grow commercially.
As everyone who drives into Harlow knows, we are the birthplace of fibre optic communications. Fibre-optics were invented here in the Old Nortel Site. It is only right that Harlow joins the internet fibre-optic revolution so that residents get the very best service that is available.
