Wonderful Parndon Wood

Not so long ago I visited Parndon Wood to meet volunteers and staff - and to celebrate their new Green Flag Award. The Green Flag gives the Nature Reserve recognition as one of the finest of its kind in the country.

Parndon Wood is almost magical: peaceful, educational and wondrous. Its a place just to stop and stare a little and contemplate the beautiful trees, the rustling of leaves and noises from wildlife.

There is also the remarkable wooden Owl-Chair, hand-crafted by a volunteer. It is worth sitting on.
