Some very good news today. The Conservative-led Government have announced a major investment in Harlow: a brand new scientific centre focusing on phenome/biotech. The site will be at the GSK plant and will replace the Labs there currently working on drugs testing for the Olympics.
The Labs will have ten million pound funding over the next five years and represent a huge boost for scientific research in Harlow.
Harlow has the highest business growth in the UK, but is also a town of innovation and scientific excellence. The new scientific centre goes alongside other significant investment - most notably our biotech Enterprise Zone and the new University Technical College that will open on Harlow College Campus in 2014.
This new centre will cement our place as a scientific corridor in the East of England.
Another example of strong Government support for in Harlow.
