The announcement that NHS West Essex will receive an extra £12.2m this year is great news.
The funding boost means that the health trust will receive a total of £446m for 2012.
The increase comes after I urged the Government to do more to help Harlow with its high rates of drug and alcohol problems.
The additional sum follows a similar increase in funding in 2011.
This is marvellous news for Harlow people and those who use its health facilities.
Altogether this additional funding means that in 2012 the Conservative-led Government will have boosted funding for Harlow's local NHS by a total of £24.2m since the General Election.
