Does Harlow have the answer to our dreaded pothole problem? After a visit to Ronacrete business in Flex Meadow, I saw a product that might actually transform how we deal with potholes across a country.
Ronacrete have developed a pothole filler that is green (it uses recyclable materials) and provides value for money - against traditional pothole fillers. Most importantly, the pothole takes less than a few minutes to fill in and apparently is much longer lasting than traditional pothole materials - it lasts as long as the lifetime of the road.
As the photos show, I witnessed this for myself, meeting employees filling in a prepared pothole with the materials, that was sorted in a couple of minutes. As I understand it, Essex County Council are now trialing Ronacrete's product and I very much hope it is rolled out across the County. I certainly will be doing my bit to persuade relevant authorities and agencies to trial the Ronacrete solution. It would be great if a company in Harlow was responsible for ending our pothole difficulties in our country.

One of my friends works for the Harlow company that produced the tarmac for one of the contractors which in the past repaired the pot holes in our roads. My friend told me that the requirement from the contractors was invariably for the cheapest mix possible.
ReplyDeleteYou get what you pay for, my friend said, and I think he was right. Little wonder then that the many hundreds of holes on Harlow Common between Churchgate Street and Potter Street would reappear within weeks of being filled in. Of course, it didn't help that the contractors didn't appear to remove clumps of grass which had grown in the road before they filled the holes. I hope Ronacrete proves more durable and the Ronacrete contractors efficient.
