Cutting Taxes

The Conservative announcement to reverse Gordon Brown's increase in National Insurance contributions is great news for millions of employees and employers up and down the country.

The NIC rise was both unjust and unnecessary. For a once Socialist party to hit lower earners in this way was quite astonishing.

I am glad that the Conservatives have shown which side they are on: lower taxes for lower earners, cutting waste and debt and creating the conditions for Britain to become an enterprise economy once again.

  1. A substantial number of owners and staff of small businesses, hard working people whose companies and jobs are barely keeping afloat in the current recession, are dreading Labour's reckless National Insurance increase.

This is a tax on jobs, you're right. It will be just enough to push many small companies over the brink into receivership and to destroy many jobs.

    What fools this government are.
