Supporting Harlow's Citizens Advice Bureau - put a Dove on the Christmas Tree

Another great tradition at Christmas time are the Doves placed on Harlow's Christmas Tree (in Broadwalk by Market Square) by the Citizen's Advice Bureau. Every year, CAB volunteers, collect funds for the charity and offer passers-by the chance to make a wish on a paper dove, which is then put on the Christmas Tree.

The Doves make the Tree extra special. The huge number of birds on the tree is both a testament to the commitment of the CAB and the support from so many members of the public.

I am not surprised. CAB does such an important job with few resources. Its services are vital to those in desperate need. They have the expertise and the knowledge to navigate the legal and benefit system in a way which few can. In these difficult economic times, when many people are facing problems with paying off debt, the CAB is needed more than ever.

P.S. It is good new that Essex County Council have just confirmed a Grant of over £20,000 for Harlow CAB.
