Wisteria Lane comes to Roydon
Look at this beautiful house in Roydon High Street. The Wisteria is spell-binding and appears every Spring. It has to be one of the most delightful views in the village. Definitely worth a visit.
I love that wisteria too. Along with some stunning shrubs and trees in the town park and some lovely old shrubs in our museum garden, it's one of the most beautiful shrubs in the district.
It's little know that the name of this shrub was misrecorded. Its true name is Wistaria and is named in honour of a very good man: Caspar Wistar. Wistar was an 18th century American physicist and anatomist who pioneered the use of innoculation in Philadelphia.
