A major political earthquake: Labour support lower than fringe parties

A major political earthquake tonight, as an opinion poll for The Times newspaper, regarding Thursday's election, puts Labour at 16% behind UKIP, and just ahead of the Liberal Democrats at 12%. The Conservatives are on 30%. If this poll is accurate and is reflected in the results on Thursday, this will mean that the Governing Party got less votes than a fringe party, at a major election, something that has never happened before in the history of modern politics.

P.S. The same poll shows that if there were a General Election (as opposed to Local and European elections), the figures would be very different. Conservatives are on 41% (up 2%), Labour are on 21% (down 6%), and the Liberals on 15% (down 2%).
